Dirt is thrown onto the baby, but George hesitates before completely covering the baby. Edmund starts to cry as George starts to cover the baby. Sherman lowers the baby, wrapped in a cloth, into the hole. They walk out into the next field, George carrying a shovel.

They are deformed grotesquely, their skin a wrinkly gray. One can barely make out that the boys don't look quite right. The baby is taken outside by George, Edmund, and their brother Sherman. The woman groans in pain, smiling slightly. George takes a pair of scissors and cuts the umbilical cord. There is a splattering sound and a baby starts to cry. The second man, long-haired George Peacock, hands the other man, bald-headed Edmund Peacock, a fork. The room is very dark, and we can barely make out a man standing between her legs, preparing to take the baby. The yard is an absolute mess, field hoes and barrels scattered. The rain is hitting hard and the thunder and lightning crackle.
